How To Catch Wild Honey Bee Swarms The Easy Way Tutorial

Hello, and welcome to my Beekeeping Tutorials. If you found this page you must be trying to get into beekeeping and have found that it can be very expensive to get started. Well, one of my goals is to help you avoid some of that expense that the big manufacturers want you to believe is necessary. Buying bees is not always a needed expense for the hobby beekeeper.  Catching your first wild honey bee swarm is the most ideal way to start beekeeping. You actually want bees that are already acclimated to the general area. Buying bees from southern bee farms and bringing them to the extreme north or vice versa can be detrimental to the bees and they may not survive the extreme temperatures.  So if at all possible try to catch your own swarm. Below I'll be showing you different ways you can catch swarms. The technique remains the same, but the style of box can change.
