Over the years I have struggled with anger and unforgiveness. I have listened to countless seminars, read articles, listened to preachers, and looked for answers to MY problem. None of those things helped. I've been made to feel that if I don't reconcile with the person or people that wronged me then I have not truly forgiven them. Are we required or expected to always reconcile? Is that always healthy? What if I'm the toxic person and to force reconciliation is a detriment to them? What if it is them who is toxic? I can forgive toxic behavior, but not if I am bathed in it constantly. Is continued anger and hurt a sign that I've not truly forgiven the person?   I could go on and on about different issues both current and in the past, but I won't. Just know this, that hurts are not always one-time huge events that are obvious to everyone.
