I have also heard that if you cannot change your company, change what you feed your brain. And one more thing along those same lines is that reading biographical material of great people who have done great things is one of the best ways that you can trick your mind into believing you are hangin' with the greats, and at the same time you are feeding your brain information that could rewire YOU for greatness!  I don't know what you have been taught about Andrew Carnegie. I knew very little about him before reading this book. The image I had of him in my mind was not really a positive one, but it also was not an attitude of indifference. I mostly envisioned him as a hard man. What I learned in...

She understands so much that most of the Christian church has long forgotten about their roots in the practices that Jesus was a part of in His life on Earth. Do you have a good understanding of who Adam truly was? Do you fully grasp what was going on with Abraham and Isaac on that day on the mountain? Do you understand fully what it means biblically to be a preist or king? What does all of this have to do with those "Jewish festivals"? what does any of it have to do with YOU?  Many questions like these are given answers in this book by Dinah Dye. This book, like the others in this series, are meant to be used as study guides. These books will cause you to stretch yourself, but more importantly, they will cause you to grow! Audiobooks Help You Become Better!

I am a huge proponent of reading, even when it comes to "reading" audiobooks. Though many people today are enamored with video tutorials, movies (often derived from books), and podcasts there is no replacement that even comes close to the thought-out, detailed written and/or spoken word.  There is nothing wrong with the other things listed, but there is something lacking. I love YouTube tutorials. I share one in this post. But reading a book will literally rewire your mind. Read something! Subscribe to Audible. BigDaddyBigz Book Review: The Temple Revealed In Creation: A Portrait Of The Family by Dinah Dye

Tap the image above to hear an excerpt from the book and read more reviews. * Please visit the  BigDaddyBigz Bookshelf !* Without question the most important weapon against the decay of civilization is the family...PERIOD! Yet everywhere you turn you see the family losing ground in society more and more all the time. Why is this? What is happening to cause this? I believe the answer to these questions (and more) lies within the pages of Dinah Dye's book The Temple Revealed In Creation: A Portrait Of The Family . This book is extensive in the information that it delivers.  I remember back when I was a kid in the late 1970's my favorite television show was Quincy M.E. If you remember it you'll recall that Jack Klugman played the part of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, and this was my first exposure to forensic science, something that has intrigued me since those days. In the forward of this book Dinah Dye makes reference to her biblical studies being akin to forensic...

BigDaddyBigz Book Review: The Temple Revealed in Noah's Ark by Dinah Dye

Click the abaove image to hear excerpt from the audiobook. * Please visit the  BigDaddyBigz Bookshelf !* Are you ready to move beyond your typical Sunday School lesson of Noah's Ark? Are you ready to go beyond the basics, the cursory understanding that the text of scripture offers? Are you ready for a greater understanding of things that you see throughout scripture that you may only pretend to understand, but really they make no sense to you? (We all have done it, and most of us still do. Myself included.) Dinah Dye draws from many historical and theological resources to bring you this absolutely compelling new book The Temple Revealed in Noah's Ark: From Chaos to Order. You may find this book to be many things, but I believe that EXTENSIVE will be one of the many ways it can be described. When I finished I felt as if I had been showered in incredibly interesting details, biblical history, and perspectives about this event that plays out in the book of Genesis.  The Temple of...

Be Better Today So You Can Serve Better Tomorrow

Everything about the BigDaddyBigz series of blogs is an attempt to help the people around me become better stewards of what The Creator has given us. You are not a finished creation. You were formed in God's image but you were unclothed, immature, and unlearned. He left the finish work up to you. You are unfinished. His desire is that you become more like Him as you refine yourself. Our collective purpose is to love the Creator and love one another. It is imperative that we live for others. We are to care for other people. Jewish tradition teaches that we are to give charity. In their tradition it is recommended that 10% of our income should be given to charitable causes. More is allowed, but they generally set the limit at 20%. There are legitimate reasons for this cap, but I don't feel to share them here. If you are a frequent reader of my book reviews, watcher of my beekeeping videos, listener of my bible reading, or if you keep up with my investment practices you have helpe...

BigDaddyBigz Book Review: Sam Walton Made In America

Check the bottom of the page for how they've spent some of their fortune! Tap image for more reviews on this book. I have not enjoyed a book more than I did this one in a very long time. I am 53 years old at the time I am writing this review so the nostalgia that I experienced reading this book was pure joy. I can remember so much of what is talked about in this book. Granted, I do not remember any of it from any standpoint other than a little boy going to the TG&Y or any number of other stores talked about in this book and seeing all of the marketing ploys these marketers would participate in. As you read this book I am certain those of you who are near my age and older will have many of the same memories. In this aspect alone the book was well worth the read. It has other value though. I cannot tell you just how deeply my attitude towards Wal-mart as a business has shifted. I have a much more positive view of the company. Heck, I may even become a shareholder after reading it...
