Click the image to read more reviews of this book. "Live Not By Lies" by Rod Dreher: A Book Review In today's polarized world, where people are increasingly divided over political and social issues, "Live Not By Lies" by Rod Dreher offers a compelling analysis of the current cultural landscape and the challenges facing those who hold traditional values. Drawing on the experiences of dissidents from communist regimes in Eastern Europe, Dreher argues that we are now facing a new form of totalitarianism that seeks to impose a secular, liberal ideology on society and silence any dissenting voices. This review will explore the historical and religious implications of the book and examine how it can help readers navigate the complexities of the modern world. One of the strengths of "Live Not By Lies" is its historical depth. Dreher draws on the experiences of dissidents such as Vaclav Havel, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and Aleksandr Zinoviev to show how the tact...

BigDaddyBigz Review of Curveball by Peter Enns

** Attention** This review was written entirely by ChatGPT. There are errors in the review. You will need the book to find the review errors. This was just a test and not a habit of future reviews. The book is divided into three parts, each of which explores a different aspect of Enns' journey towards personal growth and fulfillment. Throughout the book, Enns emphasizes the importance of finding one's true purpose in life and of overcoming the ego and self-centeredness that can prevent us from achieving true success. Book Review: The Ten Commandments Still The Best Moral Code by Dennis Prager

Image
The Ten Commandments by Dennis Prager I thoroughly enjoyed this short yet very in-depth audio from Dennis Prager. There is a print version to this audiobook. With this audiobook there is a pdf download that you will want to use while listening. Dennis is a great political and Bible teacher. I was really hesitant to use one of my Audible credits for this approximately 1 hour audio, but I'm actually glad I did. The depth of understanding that Dennis has on this issue, as well as his incredible ability to share his understanding so succinctly is amazing to me.  As a Christian I find the information in this book to be very helpful in understand what Jesus and his apostles were talking about when they say that keeping God's Law is tantamount to living the life the Creator desires to see in us. Why it so broadens my understanding is because as Christians detached from Jewish understanding of scripture Dennis brings out another level of understanding about these commands that you will...

Lecture Review: 3000 Years of Judaism in 30 Day: Understanding Jewish History, Beliefs, and Practices by Howard N. Lupovitch

Image
Over the last few years I have been studying and learning about Jewish culture and some of their religious practices and beliefs. This lecture came up on my Audible "suggested listens" list. It has taken me a month to get through it all, and I must say that as much as I have learned over the last few years, this lecture has peeled off more layers of the onion skin than what I thought could be done!  I think it is important to understand going into this lecture that Judaism is not JUST a religious practice. There is much more involved. It is a complete culture and lifestyle that has an incredibly interesting and world changing history.  I believe there is something here for everyone.  I suggest listening to it as a daily devotion, one lecture per day. Each lecture sticks with one topic. Each topic is thoroughly covered and packed with an enormous amount of information. If you have ever wondered why the Jewish people believe and act in certain ways that you do not understan...

I Found A Hidden Gem!

Image
Yep...I found a truly hidden gem in the country on the outskirts of the small quiet town of Deridder, LA. At a time in my life when I felt everything in my life was completely hopeless due to a particular situation I had gotten myself into (to put it mildly, biting off WAYYY more than I could chew), I found this gem when I wasn't even looking for it.  What is this gem? It is the location in which a community like-minded people come together each week to learn about the Creator, share about their lives with one another, and break bread together. That is the simplest way I can put it, but please understand it is so much more than that.  Let me first tell you about the people in attendance there. These people, though few in numbers come from all over the state of Louisiana, and a few even travel from East Texas. The online reach actually extends internationally, including Israel and the United Kingdom! They come from all walks of life, occupations, and denominational/cultural bac...
