Book Review: The Right Side of History: How Reason and Moral Purpose Made The West Great

 

Once again Ben Shapiro knocks the ball out of the court with his keen understanding and detailed breakdown of the ideals he has decided to tackle in his book The Right Side Of History!

I must admit that I had a difficult time deciding how to categorize this book review. Ben has a keen understanding of God's Torah as given to Moses, and how that foundation given to creation by the Creator is crucial to man's survival. Though not a religious book there is much to be said about the direct connection between God's Law and the freedom it gives to mankind and the Governments they build. Ben draws on that understanding and presents an incredible argument on how to correct what is wrong in the world. 

The more that western civilization pushes away from Judeo-Christian philosophy and values, the more it seems that western civilization decays. Ben sharply carves out just how tightly woven together morals and reason are to the success of free nations. Without that tight knit fabric the very foundation of that nation will begin to wither and die. What can be done to stop the death of freedom? Where does our freedom even come from? Is it given to us by men? Is the decay repairable?
