Have You Seen The Cupcake & Cornbread Show?

Image
Hey everybody BigDaddyBigz here! Thank you for stopping by. I hope your summer is going well and you're all able to keep cool in this heat.  I wanted to take a minute to give a big shout-out to my wife's sister and her husband, Cupcake and Cornbread. They started a YouTube channel about a year ago and it is going great! So if I could just borrow you for a minute I want to tell you a little bit about their channel and invite you to go subscribe.  So last night Cupcake and Cornbread stopped in for an overnight visit at my house. I knew they had a YouTube channel and had watched a few of their videos over the past year, but honestly I have just never taken the time to really sit and watch many of them. Well, after visiting with them last night and hearing about some of what they have posted, I sat myself down today and started watching episodes of Cupcake and Cornbread. YA'LL!!! These videos are LEGIT! I had no idea they had such variety in their chosen topic(s).  What is th...

BigDaddyBigz Book Review: The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous

Image
This is a very well written book on the subject of Bitcoin. It is written in such a way that even someone who is illiterate about coding and technology (this is me) can still understand Bitcoin. If you have been wondering what exactly Bitcoin is, this book is for you. I have seen so many people criticize Bitcoin, then give explanations of their perception of Bitcoin, only to find out what they think they know usually came from someone who has not researched the subject of Bitcoin either, thus creating in that person a very messed up view of Bitcoin. If you think you know what Bitcoin is because you heard someone at the watercooler parrot an opinion they heard someone else parrot, this book is for you. People who are "good with money" are not those who know only how to pay their bills well. That is a start, but that is not the finish line of successful money management. Someone who is "good with money" will have a deep understanding of money, what it is and where i...

BigDaddyBigz Book Review: The Unseen Realm by Dr. Michael S. Heiser

Click image for audio sample Hello everyone, thanks for checking out my latest book review. I know it has been awhile and I've got some books I need to catch up on. This book has taken me a long time to finish, so let's get to it! This is one my pastor suggested, and was reiterated by a friend in North Dakota so I figured I should read it. Glad I did This audiobook is 15 hours and 43 minutes long. For someone with ADD like myself it was difficult to stay focused on reading it. As a matter of fact, I started three other books while reading this one. Not that this one wasn't interesting, because it was. It is a just a chore for me to focus sometimes. This book is loaded with facts and theories about some of the most untalked about issues in the Bible. I'm talking about things that are very difficult for Christians to talk about, but are right there in the text of the Bible.  This book will not only force you to ask some very tough questions about the Bible, but will also ...

BigDaddyBigz Book Review: The Authoritarian Moment

Image
As a country, we have recently witnessed the largest power-grab in history. Big government, big tech, corporate America, and global giants all took part in this power-grab. The left has been developing a playbook for a very long time, and now they have unleashed it on the American people! We can do something about it....and I believe we will. In this book written and read by Ben Shapiro, you will see how they have used this playbook in order to gain a political foothold in the world. You will learn how they have silenced you, The Majority in this country. How they have created a "new normal" (I personally am sick of that statement). How "THE Science" has replaced actual science. There is so much more that he covers in this book, but those are a few highlights.  Take heart, all is not lost, but you will need to listen to the conclusion of the book. There Ben will lay out steps that we all can take to not let the authoritarian left finish off this country.  If you hav...

BigDaddyBigz Book Review: Forgiving What You Can't Forget by Lysa Terkeurst

Over the years I have struggled with anger and unforgiveness. I have listened to countless seminars, read articles, listened to preachers, and looked for answers to MY problem. None of those things helped. I've been made to feel that if I don't reconcile with the person or people that wronged me then I have not truly forgiven them. Are we required or expected to always reconcile? Is that always healthy? What if I'm the toxic person and to force reconciliation is a detriment to them? What if it is them who is toxic? I can forgive toxic behavior, but not if I am bathed in it constantly. Is continued anger and hurt a sign that I've not truly forgiven the person?   I could go on and on about different issues both current and in the past, but I won't. Just know this, that hurts are not always one-time huge events that are obvious to everyone. Sometimes they are so subtle, yet constant, that people looking at the issue from outside may not understand your hurt or anger. T...

I have also heard that if you cannot change your company, change what you feed your brain. And one more thing along those same lines is that reading biographical material of great people who have done great things is one of the best ways that you can trick your mind into believing you are hangin' with the greats, and at the same time you are feeding your brain information that could rewire YOU for greatness!  I don't know what you have been taught about Andrew Carnegie. I knew very little about him before reading this book. The image I had of him in my mind was not really a positive one, but it also was not an attitude of indifference. I mostly envisioned him as a hard man. What I learned in...

She understands so much that most of the Christian church has long forgotten about their roots in the practices that Jesus was a part of in His life on Earth. Do you have a good understanding of who Adam truly was? Do you fully grasp what was going on with Abraham and Isaac on that day on the mountain? Do you understand fully what it means biblically to be a preist or king? What does all of this have to do with those "Jewish festivals"? what does any of it have to do with YOU?  Many questions like these are given answers in this book by Dinah Dye. This book, like the others in this series, are meant to be used as study guides. These books will cause you to stretch yourself, but more importantly, they will cause you to grow!
