BigDaddyBigz Book Review: As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

I have read and listened to this book many times over the years. I believe that the message of the book is true. I also realize that it is very difficult for most people to accept the validity of it because of what it may mean for them to accept it as true and accurate.

Because there is no muscular type of effort put forth in forming a thought we inevitably will discount the effectiveness of our mind in using it to shape our world around us. Often times when I have had conversations about the subject matter of this book I have gotten responses from people like "That name-it claim-it stuff doesn't work" or "I'll prove it doesn't work by thinking I'm a duck....see, I'm no duck". This kind of cynicism is actually proving the whole point of this book, and it is missed by the cynic. To think a thought in passing is not the same condition this book, or the true process is referring to. The fact of the matter is that the statement "As a mam thinketh, so is he" is truth handed to us in the word of God, yet the description of how and why it is true takes an entire book...and it is still hard for many to understand.

Quotes from the book that I liked:

"Men do not attract what they want, but what they are!"

"Nothing can come from corn but corn, nothing but nettles from nettles."

**This audio copy is not great. It sounds like it is recorded in a bedroom with a tape-player and an internal mic. Near the end there is background noise of someone opening and closing a door, as well as moving around the room.**
