My Thoughts On Elon's Tweet
Elon Musk is hilarious! He pumps Dogecoin for months making many people millionaires overnight in some cases.
He really hypes it up. He buys a ton of Bitcoin (in the billions in USD). Tells the world he is accepting cryptocurrency for his car sales. He called dogecoin a hustle on Saturday Night Live, then talks up dogecoin as being the currency of his moon city or something.
Now, a few days later it seems he has attempted to crash the entire crypto market with an idiotic tweet about energy consumption in the mining of Bitcoin. Are you kidding me????
Maybe we should first take a look at the man in the mirror. You know, that man that intends to build a city on the moon and get us to Mars. I can't even begin to imagine how much energy that is going to take, not to mention how much you've already used in working toward that goal. By the way, didn't you launch a rocket into space just to put one of your cars in orbit? I think that was just for giggles and to stroke your ego. And let's talk about your cars for a minute. Don't they have to be plugged into a wall in order to be recharged? I'm pretty sure that uses a considerable amount of coal energy. Let's not forget your lithium batteries. You know, the Tesla wall for the home, as well as the car batteries. Doesn't the lithium have to be mined, like, the old fashioned way? Wow, look at all that wasted energy coming from one man! You Mr Musk.
Ok, so let's not focus on the areas that make you seem hypocritical. Let's talk about everyone else for a minute.
How much energy do you suppose is being used in the world banking system. Let's see, there are banks in every city and community. I've seen them in the most rural of areas. They all have humans and computers, both of which require climate control. Energy consumption on a massive level.
What about the federal reserve. Do they operate without energy consumption?
Precious metals mining?
Then there are the folks driving everyday to these jobs. I mean seriously, if I wanted I literally could go on for hours! I don't have time.
Just so everyone is informed, the largest crypto mining operations are done with solar power. Kinda like the stuff that Elon is so fond of and promotes. Everyday crypto mining is finding alternative solutions to mining that are not energy intensive. Just look at Algorand and Ethereum 2.0 as prime examples.
I'll end by saying this, Elon Musk is a brilliant man and I support his companies and what they are doing. I support his stance on creating more renewable energy infrastructure. I even support his ideal situation of better energy performance from mining. But his tweet needed to be spoken, not type-tweeted. It was misdelivered and likely misunderstood after all he has done in support of crypto. It is very telling that he really is out of touch with crypto and how it is all done. I hope he will educate himself on the subject of mining before he hurts more people financially.
